When is this happening?
No date is set yet. When one is, it will be announced in the extension itself and on this page well in advance, followed by a full month where everything keeps working free of charge.
Will I lose anything I have today?
No. If you installed before the change, everything you use today keeps working, including unlimited message exports and channel exports. The paid model changes what new installs get, not what you already have.
What will paid features look like?
New installs after the change will get a free tier that exports up to 50 messages per chat in every format, and a Pro tier for power use: a one-time payment (planned: 15 US dollars, with a discounted early supporter price of 7 US dollars for existing users) unlocks unlimited messages, channel (Posts) exports, and future Pro features such as PDF and DOCX export. Local features will never need a subscription.
How will existing users be recognised?
The extension locally records when it was first installed. Installs that predate the announcement will be offered the discounted early supporter price automatically. Nothing about this leaves your device. See the privacy policy.
